In addition to providing Public Health leadership to a cross section of organisations and individuals, the Public Health Team in North Wales work closely with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and local authority partners. In order to target the circumstances that produce adverse health behaviours such as smoking and physical inactivity, the team is focused on ‘upstream’ intervention.
Primarily the team support work around:
- Early intervention
- Promotion of health and wellbeing from birth, throughout the life course and during older age
North Wales covers approximately 2,500 square miles and is made of six counties; Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham.
